Commonly used phrases can often sound unprofessional in a corporate setting, and figuring out what's acceptable and what's not is half of the problem! Since we knew this would be a debatable topic we decided to ask our experts what they thought on the matter and here's what they had to say.
- 'I'm sorry'
- 'That’s not my job'
- 'This is how we’ve always done it.'
- 'I don’t know what to do'
- 'Not my problem' or 'Not in my job description'
- 'That’s above my pay grade.'
Though none of these phrases are likely to get you directly fired, if they become a habit, your professional reputation will likely suffer and limit other opportunities.
