According to a new study, the majority of office workers, especially Gen Z workers, say the number of emails they get on the daily is stressful.
The Survey found:
- 36% of Gen Z workers have more than 1,000 unread emails
- 18% of office workers overall had this many unread emails
- 1 in 5 Gen Z workers “very often” regret the emails they send
“From our findings, Gen Z appears to struggle the most with email stress and stacking up a huge quantity of unread emails due to a combination of factors,” linguistics and culture expert at Babbel, Esteban Touma, explains. “Gen Z’s communication preferences are heavily influenced by the prevalence of instant messaging platforms and social media.” Popular platforms like Instagram and Snapchat are good examples of this instantaneous and informal messaging.
