Ricky Martin Details New EP "Pausa" and Teases Forthcoming EP "Play"

Ricky Martin used music as his “medicine” during COVID-19 quarantine lockdown. The singer Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, June 19, and shared that creating surprise EP Pausa was just what he needed.

“I started working on this album like nine months ago and I’m telling you in lockdown magic happened,” Ricky shared. “The album was going to be called Movement and obviously that’s not what we are so I said, ‘Hold on a second, let me divide the album in two.’ I’m first going to release Pausa, Pause, with a more introspective sound, mid-tempos, ballads and then later on I’m going to release Play and it’s going to be all about the rhythmic sounds that I usually perform. It’s having an excuse to re-release an album once again and this is my medicine,” he added. “This has been my medicine.”

The album features collabs with the likes of Bad Bunny, Sting and more.

“It’s all about letting go of the fear that we were all going through and the uncertainty,” Ricky concluded.

Ricky teased that Play will drop likely in September or October.
