Matt Maeson is an artist that you NEED to know. With lyrics that will cut you straight to your core and a voice that will give your goosebumps, goosebumps, he's an up and comer that's making his way to Louisville this July! Maeson is a Chesapeake Bay native who was graced with an incredible voice and the insane ability to play several different instruments. As a child he toured with his father's band traveling to different prisons for ministry and music. Matt attributes a lot of his song writing to being able to meet and tour those maximum security prisons.
I'm not sure what your relationship with music is, but it's been the only constant in my life since I was a child. I've played violin for 17 years, taught myself how to play piano and mandolin. Music was the only way I knew how to express myself as a kid. As I got older, I kind of felt like the lyrics of so many songs saved me and made me who I am today. I feel like I can express myself better in music than I can in words. If I ask you to listen to a song, it's usually because it means something to me or is my way of trying to express something to you.
I stumbled across Matt Maeson last year and have been obsessed with him ever since. Give these two songs a listen and you'll understand why.
